Disney said that there are three kinds of people in this world.
First, there are well-poisoners, who discourage others and trample
on their dreams. Second, there are
lawn-mowers, who mow their own lawn and have no time for anybody
else. Finally, there are life-enhancers who lift and inspire
people.
How grateful I am for the life-enhancers.
I
remember leaving home as a teenager to go and work in Germany. I
had left family, friends, my native language and culture. I felt
helpless, empty, alone and vulnerable. I remember praying "
God I know about you, now I need you." A prayer based on
selfish felt needs but it was answered by a " life-enhancer."
In fact a whole group of them. Some German Christians met and read
the Bible together at the local YMCA and they encouraged me to
read the Bible. Through them I met the greatest "
life-enhancer". Jesus Christ who said I have come that you
may have life and life in all it's fullness.(John 10:10)
Today
the greatest purpose we have as a church is to tell people the
message of Jesus Christ the Saviour of the world. Countless lives
have been transformed because of a relationship with Jesus, You
may well meet a "life-enhancer."
Our
purpose:-
Burton Community Church exists to help the people of
Burton hear the gospel of Jesus Christ and to have their lives
transformed through a relationship with Him.
